Mixed Media Artist

Heidi retired as a labor and delivery nurse after 20 years and began taking a local art class as a way of healing following a tragic family event in 2010. This led to a three week trip to Italy that changed Heidi’s life. Spreading paint, layering paper on canvas and making marks gave Heidi a freedom she’d not experienced. She could express her feelings with paint and texture that she could not with words.

Heidi’s work consists of abstracts in modern black and whites as well as bright colorful pieces. She enjoys painting impressionistic florals inspired by her love of gardening, passed down from her parents. Heidi is known for her paintings of people which she says are a reminder that we all matter and are never alone.

With her partner Mark, she resides in Camas and together they’ve raised five beautiful daughters. Heidi and Mark care for three of their aging parents and says art helps process emotions of caregiving.

Heidi is a co-owner of RedDoor Gallery in downtown Camas. This location hosts her original pieces of art and her working studio. She teaches weekly art classes and offers private art parties. She is also available for one-on-one teaching and commissioned works of art.
