Dave has been drawing for as long as he can remember. While growing up, he was the kid in school that was always being asked to draw something “cool”.

Little did he know then, that being an artist would turn out to be a lifelong passion and adventure. Dave attended art school at the University of Illinois to study design, drawing, painting, and advertising. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Painting and worked in Chicago for several years in advertising, and the publishing business before opening his own illustration studio.

Most of his assignments come from children's book publishing, but he also enjoys commissioned works, and he has created his own line of popular greeting cards. 

Dave’s subjects are wide ranging and change frequently. He likes working on a variety of different ideas while always trying to keep things simple, and lighthearted. 

He is inspired by everyday life, and usually a good cup of coffee.
