Camas, Washington, and Las Vegas, Nevada based artist, Sarah Canepa Bang has been perfecting her storytelling with art since 2004. Her pieces seek to bring out the best of human emotions from bravery to joy, to wonder.

Born in 1958 in the circus town of Baraboo, Wisconsin, Sarah frequently uses entertainment themes in her work. Sarah works primarily in oils but combines mediums if doing so adds to the enchantment of the image. Living part time in Las Vegas has given her a whole new source of theatrical and whimsical subjects.

Her commissioned portraits of families and pets are narratives that portray more than mere likenesses. Viewers learn something about her subjects whether it’s the love of a pet, or a child’s first solo ride on a bicycle. There is a story behind every painting.
