RedDoor artists accept commissions for your custom masterpiece

Cheryl Mathieson is shown with a happy RedDoor Gallery commission client on the completion of this portrait, painted as a gift for his professional mentor.

RedDoor Gallery represents a diverse group of talented artists who accept custom commissions from gallery clients. These artists will create one-of-a-kind works of art tailored to client wishes. Contact gallery staff to arrange for a no-obligation consultation with the RedDoor artist of choice.

Here’s an overview of RedDoor Gallery’s professional art commission program:

Gallery interaction: Visit RedDoor Gallery in person to see various styles from several artists available to create custom commissions. RedDoor Gallery hosts studio events every month where clients can meet artists and discuss custom work in a relaxed and personal setting. See reverse side for list of artists who accept custom commissions.

Experience a seamless process. Commissioning through RedDoor Gallery helps ensure professional handling, documentation, and a written contract that protects both the client and the artist. RedDoor Gallery staff will guide each client through a transparent process from start to finish.

Discuss the vision: Once the client selects a gallery artist, the client will describe what they want - regarding size, subject, color palette, medium and where the piece will be displayed. Artist may ask for reference photos, sketches, or inspiration to clarify the vision. Expect communication about timeline and cost estimate based on complexity of the work.

Agree on terms: A commission contract between the client, RedDoor Gallery and its artist will be executed. A deposit of 50% will be collected at time  of contract signing. Once the piece is complete and accepted, the client pays remaining balance as agreed.  The commission contract protects all parties with a clear understanding of deadlines, revisions and delivery terms. Depending upon the artist, client may receive progress images and have the opportunity to give feedback. On large format commissions, the artist may create a small study for the client to approve before the large painting is undertaken.
