Award winning artist Fongwei Liu holds a Master of Fine Arts in Oil Painting from the Academy of Art University, San Francisco. Upon graduation, he served as a graduate instructor at the Academy, teaching advanced oil painting courses to graduate students. He also mentored students in classical and contemporary painting techniques.

For ten years, he operated Fongwei Liu Studio in Northern California where he established a private studio dedicated to fine art education. Over his career, he has conducted professional workshops all over the U.S., training hundreds of aspiring artists.

Fongwei has exhibited his original oil on canvas works at leading U.S. galleries, including New Masters Gallery and Waterhouse Gallery. His art is collected by residents across the country, and in Canada, Australia and Hong Kong. Fongwei was selected for the Oil Painters of America National Exhibition for seven consecutive years, winning three awards. He is also a three-time finalist and award recipient at the International Portrait Society of America. Fongwei has garnered numerous other prestigious awards throughout his professional art career.

In late 2024, Fongwei and his wife Shelly moved to Camas, Washington where his exclusive focus is painting in oils on canvas.
